Correction Policy
Last updated: May 18, 2026
Editors Outlook is committed to accuracy. When we make mistakes — and all news organisations do — we correct them promptly, transparently, and without attempting to hide what went wrong. Our correction policy reflects our respect for our readers and our commitment to honest journalism.
Our Commitment
We believe that correcting errors quickly and openly is a mark of journalistic integrity, not weakness. Readers who trust us need to know that when we get something wrong, we will say so clearly.
Types of Corrections
Factual Corrections
If an article contains a factual error — an incorrect name, wrong date, inaccurate statistic, or false claim — we will correct the error in the article and add a clearly labelled correction notice at the top or bottom of the article stating what was incorrect and what the correct information is.
Clarifications
When an article is not factually wrong but is ambiguous or could be misunderstood, we may add a clarification to make the meaning clearer. Clarifications are labelled as such.
Updates
News stories develop over time. When we update an article with new information, we add an "Updated" note with the date. Updates are additions to the story, not corrections of errors.
Significant Errors
If a significant factual error fundamentally changes the meaning of an article, we will publish a standalone correction article in addition to correcting the original piece.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not silently edit articles to remove errors without acknowledging the change
- We do not delete articles to hide mistakes
- We do not alter published quotes
- We do not backdate corrections
How to Request a Correction
If you believe something we have published contains an error, we encourage you to contact us. We take all correction requests seriously and will investigate promptly.
To request a correction, please email us at contact@editorsoutlook.com with:
- The URL of the article
- The specific error you have identified
- The correct information, with a source or evidence if possible
We aim to respond to all correction requests within 24 to 48 hours. If the correction is upheld, we will publish it as quickly as possible.
Accountability
The editorial team at Editors Outlook takes full responsibility for the accuracy of all content published on this platform. The buck stops with the editorial team, and we are committed to maintaining the trust our readers place in us every time they visit our site.
