Fact Check Policy

Last updated: May 18, 2026

At Editors Outlook, we take fact-checking seriously. In an environment where misinformation spreads rapidly, we are committed to verifying claims before we publish them and to correcting any errors promptly and transparently.

Our Fact-Checking Process

Before Publication

Every factual claim in our articles is reviewed before publication. Our process includes:

  • Source verification — We confirm the identity and credibility of sources before relying on their information.
  • Cross-referencing — Significant factual claims are verified against at least two independent sources wherever possible.
  • Official sources first — For government data, statistics, and official announcements, we refer to primary official sources including government websites, press releases, and official statements.
  • Expert consultation — For complex technical, scientific, or legal matters, we consult qualified experts before publishing.

Viral Claims and Social Media

We do not republish viral social media posts, screenshots, or unverified claims without independent verification. If we cannot verify a claim, we will either not publish it or clearly state that it is unverified.

What We Do Not Publish

  • Unverified rumours presented as fact
  • Screenshots as sole evidence of claims
  • Information from a single anonymous source without corroboration
  • Misleading statistics or data taken out of context
  • Fabricated or manipulated images presented as real

When We Get It Wrong

Despite our best efforts, we may occasionally publish information that turns out to be incorrect. When this happens:

  • We correct the article as quickly as possible
  • We add a clear correction notice to the article stating what was wrong and what the correct information is
  • We do not silently delete or alter articles to hide errors
  • Significant corrections are noted with the date they were made

Reporting Misinformation to Us

If you believe something we have published is factually incorrect, please contact us immediately at contact@editorsoutlook.com with the subject line "Fact Check Request." Please include the article URL and the specific claim you believe is inaccurate, along with any evidence you have.

We will investigate all fact-check requests promptly and publish a correction if warranted.
